Sitting In Silence

Hey all,

Sorry my posts have been infrequent as of late (you might call them non-existent), but I'm working on changing the way I organize and prioritize in life, so I cut blogging out for awhile until I could get my legs back under me again. I can't promise frequent posts, but I am going to try to blog at least twice a week. I think that's doable for me at this point.

That being said, I want to share a verse from the book of Daniel that struck me a week ago when I read it:

Daniel 10:15 - "When he had spoken to me according to these words, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless." (NASB)

When Daniel was confronted with the true and living God, he couldn't speak. He had to be silent.

In our culture, we like to talk a lot. We like to be heard, but sometimes, we need to be silent.

We need to remember that prayer (communication with God) is always a two-way street. You need to talk to Him and lay out everything before Him, but you also need to be silent and listen to hear what He has to say.

Your life will change if you begin to practice this simple principle.

In fact, try it right now. For the next five minutes, sit in silence and listen to God.

See what He says to you....
